Residential Project

Oaklands, Channel Islands

The restoration of a manor house dating from the 15th Century with a history of extensions and reincarnations, including a German officers mess during the Second World War, was a challenge in dovetailing engineering systems into a historic building to provide modern, comfortable living.

Employed by the developer, but also taking instructions from the purchaser in terms of brief development, was challenging. The experience ECS have in this sector assisted the developer and purchaser in the system briefing.

The systems included underfloor heating in the extended areas and ornate column radiators, complete with ornate thermostatic radiator valves, in all other areas. ECS worked closely with London based Interior Designers to ensure every detail was carefully managed. This included the bespoke manufacture of controls cover-plates to ensure suiting throughout the property.
