Going Green with Xplore! Science Discovery Centre

ECS is delighted to be involved in the first-floor conversion project at the Xplore! Science Discovery Centre in Wrexham. Known as ‘the home of science in North Wales’, Xplore! is owned by Wrexham University and offers over 65 science exhibits and live science shows to 80,000 visitors every year.

With a mission to communicate science in exciting and innovative ways to all, Xplore! are expanding their popular facility to include a new education space outlining the importance of zero carbon technologies – something we at ECS are extremely passionate about! ECS will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical design works in relation to the expansion, including a variety of interactive displays such as interactive gym equipment to generate electricity, human body generation zone, and a learning hub for the use of solar PV and wind turbines.

ECS always aim to promote renewable technologies to further reduce the carbon footprint of buildings, and in keeping with the ‘green’ theme, we hope to utilise environmentally friendly technology wherever possible for the internal fit out and improvement of the building fabric.
