Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub

Sport England supported this project with £1.5 million of National Lottery Funding towards the £16 million renovation.

Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub has become the first public building in the world to achieve the DSDC’s (Demantia Services Development Centre) Gold Award for its dementia-friendly architecture, design and facilities. The facility’s dementia-friendly features include natural and artificial lighting, specifically designed signage and floor finishes, accessible toilets and a ‘quiet room’.

The Hub includes a 21st century library, a luxury health and wellness spa, conferencing facilities, three group fitness spaces, fully refurbished swimming pools and sports hall, a 120-station fitness suite with Inclusive Fitness Initiative equipment and functional training space.
