ECS Team Attends ASHRAE Winter Conference
In early January, two of our Team attended the ASHRAE Winter Conference in a very cold Chicago!
As part of their UCLAN university arranged trip, it was a packed week, with a busy schedule of conference activities and networking.
The trip offered a great insight into Building Services across the globe and our engineers took away some key points;
- Meeting and networking with businesses, fellow students and representatives of ASHRAE
- Learning through a design competition the challenges of implementing an efficient cooling system in Egypt.
- Discussing the benefits of being a CIBSE student member with Erato Vasileiou the CIBSE YEN Global Chair.
- ASHRAE has a focus on decarbonisation and climate change, demonstrating the world wide challenge
- Design of thermal energy storage is more widely used, compared than within the UK
- ASHRAE are trying to include AI into their plans for controlling building services
