Hospitality and Recreation

The Marriot Hotel, Solihull

This challenging project required the installation of air conditioning units in 200 hotel bedrooms, whilst ensuring that each bedroom could be sold at the end of the working day.

The scheme involved the design of chiller plant, with the installation of chilled water pipework down risers across corridors to rooms. Existing LPHW pipework was extended to the new four pipe fan coil units.

ECS liaised extensively with the client throughout the design phase, establishing a plan in relation to project logistics. Once all central plant and pipework was fitted, works were undertaken in blocks of five rooms per day.

All installed units were pressure tested at the end of each day and the complete system retested prior to commissioning.
