Education Project

Media College for the Arts, Salford

This challenging project involved the conversion of an existing light industrial warehouse unit and office building into a Media College for the Arts.

The scheme posed many challenges, including recording studios with strict requirements in relation to plant and airborne noise. The scheme has a BREEAM, ‘Very Good’ rating and utilises an air source heat pump as the primary heat source, complementing the underfloor heating system.

Gas plant was also utilised to back up/top up the system and provide domestic hot water for a large commercial and demonstration kitchen.

The project scheme also included extensive LED internal and external lighting with appropriate lighting controls.
