Industrial Project

Russell Hobbs, Wolverhampton

The construction of this brand new warehouse on a former manufacturing site involved the initial rationalisation of the existing private high voltage network.

ECS carried out the engineering design to modify the network and establish a new sub-station, supplying the distribution centre exclusively.

The building was fully sprinklered, complete with a full standby generator set and 10 metre diameter external sprinkler tank. ECS designed the fire suppression system to Loss Prevention Council standards, incorporating in-rack sprinklers.

ECS consulted directly with the client in relation to the design of the IT infrastructure for the central stock management system, which utilises transmitted units linked to the data network, with receiver units mounted on the fork lift trucks.

ECS also coordinated the design of the truck guidance system, operated in conjunction with the aisle design and interfaced with the energy-saving lighting control system.
