ECS Engineers visit ASHRAE Winter Conference, Orlando
In February, four of our engineers visited the ASHRAE Winter Conference in Orlando, Florida as part of their university degree programme. An industry leading event focused on heating, ventilation, air conditioning. The trip provided an opportunity to network with professionals, attend technical sessions and explore the latest advancements in the building services sector. Beyond the conference, they had the opportunity to explore Florida’s vibrant culture and connect with fellow students and professionals.
Some key points of our trip include:
- Networking with fellow ASHRAE members, specifically students, at events and mixers.
- Discovering and communicating with a variety of manufacturers new technology at the expo.
- Listening to guest speakers on how you can develop and progress in the engineering field, particularly as a minority.
- Presentations on net zero commercial design propositions, with their accompanying mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Discussing AI design for building controls and how ASHRAE is implementing it into standard.
- Learning how AI can be a part of the smart building controls within a building to make it more efficient.
- Meeting and talking to the current ASHRAE president.
A great experience that ChatGPT cannot offer…. yet!!!
