Education Project

Hurst Knoll Schools, Tameside

This project combined our practical approach to design with an ability to act as lead consultant, delivering a complex project within budget and strict logistical timeframes.

The rewire of this two form entry Primary and Nursery School had to be carried out during term time because the budget provision did not include for temporary accommodation and the School had no spare classrooms.

ECS set about the re-design, dovetailing with the logistical complications of the installation process. During a two week holiday period, a new sub-distribution system was installed with circulation spaces rewired.

During the following weeks, classrooms were rewired from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The late afternoon was given over for cleaning and replacing furniture.

ECS carried out weekend project management to ensure project delivery within the very tight timescales.
